The First Colored Pants - Maroon

Gap Tee, H&M blazer, LOGG by H&M pants, Report Flats

Believe it or not, but this is the very first time I wore my first pair of colored jeans out in public. So lots of first here today. I could possibly be the last person to step into colored pants. I held off from wearing these pants because I wanted to get them hemmed (got them in November!). When I brought them to the tailor (in early January), I wanted to shrink them because they left a gap at the waist. So I took them back home, washed, dried, waited a week before bringing them to the tailors and then that took another week to get back. So hemming pants is easily a 3+ weeks work in progress for me. However, the dryer did wonders to these jeans which make me love them even more. But I'm always sketchy about throwing jeans into the dryer. I'm afraid they'll shrink too much and I won't be able to fit into them again; and I'm scared the dryer will toast all the elastic in the material and cause them to loose shape and allow for baggy knees. 99% of the time I machine wash my jeans (when I'm not lazy) and let them air dry.

  1. Oh I know what you mean about hemming being a 3-week job. For me it's probably even longer because it'll sit around my room for a week or two before I wash it, then they sit around for another week or two before I find time to take them to the tailors, then it takes them a few days but I don't find time to go pick up until two weeks later, so yeah, 1.5 months easily for me.

I took a long time to get on the colored pants bandwagon. Even though I loved them from the start, it was hard to pick what color I wanted first, and then it was the hunt for the perfect pair. Now I have like 5 pairs ;)

  2. I quite like colored pants, especially your shade. I have a bright red pair myself.

Thanks for the jeans drying tips, by the way. I'm slowly realizing that some of my clothes are fine in the washing machine (meaning no hand-wash) but not fine for the dryer. I'd much rather just take care and air dry than try to handwash anything.

  3. I really need to get some colored pants - I've been looking for red, or blue polka dotted ones for awhile, but no luck so far. I love yours, and I love the blazer with them.
