My Favorite Monday

How was your Thanksgiving?
I hope you all were able to gather around the family table and share laughs with your loved ones. I think I ate enough to last me a week or two. It's time for me to hibernate and away from finals which are coming up in less than two weeks! It's amazing how fast the semester went by this year.

Did any of you camp out for Black Friday?

Aren't you happy it's Cyber Monday?
I don't know about you, but for me it's the best Monday of the year, and I usually dread Mondays.
No need to wait outside in the cold, cold, cold night to get that amazing deal.

I didn't get as much Christmas shopping done on Black Friday as I hoped. Did you know Macy's slaps on a "Morning Special" sign on piratically every item so it seem impossible to buy anything with their amazing $10 off $25 coupon?

I saw these totally cute Nine West laced wedges via Macy's but they were a little too steep for me inside the shoe and Old Navy raised their price of their wedges as well. Boo.

I contained myself and only make two purchases for this amazing Monday.
     1. Origins face wash ($10 off $25+ promo and free shipping code: TENOFF)
     2. LOFT crisp white dress shirts (50% site wide and free shipping code: SHOP50)

Carried Away

These became my favorite pair and go-to flats when I replaced these. I guess after a year, and four years of owning them, it's time for a new replacement. It is such a shame I wore down the heels.  I've considered paying $10 to get the heels replaced, but it seemed a little bit pricey considering I spent $27 on these from Ross.

Replacement 1: Majorie by Mia via Piperlime
The Majorie flats are cute, but they were not exactly what I had in mind. I wanted something more structured, made of leader, and had at least a half inch heel. The Majorie flats also ran really high behind my heel and I felt that if I were to run across campus in these, my heels would definitely be sore by the end of the day. Final verdict: returned.

Last week when Macy's had their 1-Day Sale (Wednesday) with a Preview Day Tuesday, I skipped my morning class and headed to Macy's with my $10 off $25 coupons in hand. At 7:50 am there was a crowd of people waiting for the 8:00 am opening. I causally walked through the home department while people grabbed blenders, woks, and towels as if they were free! One man grabbed two blenders and scurried himself to the front of the line. On my way up to the shoe department I grabbed two body towels at $3.99 each (since I will be moving, more on this in a later post). I left for my next class around 10:45 am (class started at 10:35 am) with two pairs of flats.

Replacement 2: Material Girl via Macy's
I understand that these are considered a "cheap" pair, but I just couldn't resist them at $8 (after sale and coupon).

Replacement 3: Marc Fisher via Macy's
I went half a size down from  my usual size 7 feet. (Yes, I'm short with large feet.) These flats are structured, made of leather, and have a great heel. I was hesitant at first, but I figured paying $43 (after sale, coupon, and tax) for these would be appropriate since I would get a good wear from them.

Sunday evening a few of my co-workers and I stopped by DSW and lo-and-behold, there was an additonal 30% clearance. I picked up two additional pairs of black flats. I just could not help myself because they were such great deals!

Replacement 4: Report via DSW
These are comfortable, structured, flexible, and super cute with the fluffy flower showing just the right amount of toe cleavage. As a bonus, they were 70% off and an additional 30% making them $12!

Replacement 5: Bandolino by Flexible via DSW
These have arch padding! They were an instant buy as soon as I put them on. It came out to $35 after discounts.

After a span of six days, I was able to gather 4 pairs of flats. It seems like there is a trend going on with my new flats -- they all have some fluff around the toes. Looks like I won't be needing a replacement any time soon.

25 Ways to Wear a Scarf in 4.5 Minutes!

Over the weekend I went to this little pizzeria with this boy. (I don't think it was a date? I am so confused. We're friends.) The idiot that I am FORGOT to bring a scarf. I was freezing, but manned it up and said I wasn't cold. Such a lie. My hands were as cold as ice.

SweatShirtDressShirt posted up this video the other day and I just had to share. I think I only know a hand full of ways to tie my scarves and I get really bored with the five that I know. Since the cold air is breezing across the country we can be creative with our scarf folds with the 25+ stylish ways to tie our scarves. My go-to style is Magic Trick (see here). What a Picture Revels

Kohls tank, Wetseal mini-skirt, Banana Republic sweater blazer (buy)
H&M tights, DeMasque flats, silk scarf from Bali

I now have three consecutive OOTDs with this sweater blazer by Banana Republic. This is a good $54 well spent. You see, I considered returning it twice - canceling the order and then bringing it back to the store after the package arrived. I am sooo glad I changed my mind because I wear it almost twice a week maybe even more -- bad -- but it is super comfortable! I don't find it itchy unlike some of the reviews online. It feels fine to me, great even. It's my new favorite sweater.

As for these tights? I am not sure if I am a huge fan of them anymore  because they "lose" color as they go up my leg to my large thighs. Does it look funny? Is this normal? Maybe I am just too used to wearing opaque tights?
