The Hottest Day of the Year

On day 90 of 2011 marked the hottest day of the year. (No, I'm not a freak who counts the days of the year. It is printed on my (paper) planner.) A whopping 76 degrees! This is considered warm for us. Thankfully I did not have class, I also did not get to take a nice breezy stroll on the beach that I long for. Why you may ask. Well, I have evil professors -- that's why. What I did get to do is stay in my sweaty pjs and read stare at my textbooks till my eyeballs felt like popping out of their sockets until Bunz decided he wanted to go for a coffee break -- YAY!
Macy's lace top Banana Republic skirt  H&M bracelet  Tablot's belt
Ross flats Essie Island Hopping  LV purse Tiffany &Co. necklace

I do not carry a steamer with me. Although I do wish my clothes didn't wrinkle that fast. All the wrinkles you see are natural, no chemicals here! I don't even iron or steam away the wrinkles on my clothes. I wait for Bunz to do it when he decides to iron his shirts. Tehehe-he.

I ordered a Green Tea Lemonade from Starbucks. I realized I should have gotten a large when I finished it in the car ride home. Bunz is nuts. He got a regular size hot coffee from Peets Coffee & Tea on the hottest day of the year. What's up with that?!

We went out for a sushi date today. It was nice. You have no idea how full I am in the last picture. That's a lot of stomach sucking. Oh yeah, don't look too closely at my legs because I haven't shaved for the past week. When I got dressed this afternoon, I was thinking no that one is going to look at my hairy legs, so heck with the shaving. It'll probably fog up Saturday at the latest. Why bother, right?

Congrats to i love mochi! You're the winner of the Coloriffics giveaway!

I'm bloated. Good night.

A New Bracelet

After I saw the really cute messenger bag on almost everyone on blog-land, I went to check out a new little company I never heard of before, Le Mode.

Here are a few of my super favorites. It's so hard to choose just one item. They're all so pretty and inexpensive. It is accessory heaven! You can probably find a few things to wear every day for a half a year without repeating. And to think everything can be mine with just a few clicks -- that will probably get ugly fast. I should learn to budget so I can squeeze a few things in here and there.

Check them out! Le Mode is offing you a discount code! Enter "justbetter" when you check out.

I took my outfit picture in a hurry, it is not that I can't hold still (I lie, I can't.) Robert and I would have been late to dinner with his granny. The klutz that I am, I lost my bracelet on my way there. It was a sad night. (Insert uber sad face here. I hope I can find it.)

The Outfit That Never-Happened-Happened

Forever 21 gray sweater  Forever 21 white thank top
Vigoss jeans via Nordstrom Bali scarf Converse
Buolva watch Tiffany &Co. necklace

I woke up late this morning. (Do you see those bags?!) I forgot to turn on my alarm clock, but I remember setting it. I don't know how people pull all night-ers in college, nevertheless in high school. (It must be because they are so young!) I can't do it. I won't ever. I need at least an hour sleep even on Black Friday. People just amaze me.

I wore this last weekend, but you didn't see it. I am an outfit repeater. I didn't sweat so I say it is still clean (kind of) so I wore it again.

Enter the Colorffics giveaway. This is your chance for a cute pair of shoes for zero cents.

I'm tired.

Sweet Treat

Remember last week I mentioned that Bunz was really sick?
Well, he's better now but still has this super loud and dry cough. Boo.
He got me these on his way back over the weekend.

I feel so special :)

Happy Hump Day!

P.S. Remember to check out my new giveaway for a pair of platform heels! A girl can never have too many shoes!

Mini-Mini Shopping Haul

Did you guys use the Give&Get Friends and Family coupon from BR/ON/Gap?! I went, but I think I was too excited. I really wanted to find some goodies are great prices, but I actually didn't find much. [Insert disappointment, sad face here.] Well, that doesn't meant I didn't find anything because I did, but when I went to try everything on, it didn't look that great as it did on the hanger. [How do people walk out here with bags full of stuff?! Teach me your ways!]

What I really wanted was a pair of Old Navy Diva black skinnes. I almost bought a pair for $9.99 (-30%), but I decided against it because it was a bit snug around the waist. I wanted to be able to tuck in my shirt without looking and feeling fat when I wore the pants, no love handles for me. So I passed. Also, they smelled like rubber. Does anyone else have this problem at Old Navy?

Here's the break down.
The prices reflex discount, 9.50% tax is not included.
 Old Navy ($4.19, buy)
I'm not sure if I agree with majority of the people who reviewed this tank-top. I mean it's cute, but it isn't the greatest. The back droops a little bit. I just have to remember to not take off whatever I am wearing on top or else I'll expose too much of my backside.

Old Navy ($5.93, similar)
I found exactly one cardigan that was not a size XL or XXL in a XS! YAY me! The one I bought is is missing a good chunk of sequins here and there on the shoulders. I just plan on snipping them all off. I don't care much for them. At the price of $5.93, I can't complain.

Old Navy ($2.43, buy)
I bought this for my brother. It was on sale for $3.47. I am assuming it was mismarked because there were others laying around for $11.49! Whenever I see more than one of something, I take two, three, or all of them so I can compare. Yes ladies, sometimes I am one of those shoppers. If you want one, just ask! I'm probably not going to buy all of them.

Total: $13.71

Today the weather cleared up a bit. It wasn't much, but it was enough time for us to do a quick run for groceries. I mean, what am I going to do without frozen foods? Do you know how much I love frozen/microwaveable foods? So much, it'll probably disgust you. Okay, maybe not that much because I am starting to disgust myself.

As for my shoes, these are from like 2007 so you probably won't find them in stores anymore. They're kind of ugly? I don't think I was thinking straight when I bought these, but whatever. They're comfortable at least. The other day I wore them into the office and my boss said if I were to get mad at someone and threw my shoe, I'll probably hurt them. Haha! Watch out.

Oh, before I forget. I am wearing secret socks aka granny socks aka patty-hose. (I think that's what they call them. My grandma wears them and she gave me a few pairs.) If you look really closely in the picture, you'll see the seams, mid-calf. That's why my feet aren't as pale as they are in real life. And to tell you the truth, I kind of like wearing these secret socks aka granny socks aka patty-hose because they feel better than slipping in my bare feet into flats. I just need to figure out what I am going to do when one, my toe cracks show, or two, when my toes are poking out of peep-toes.

Crazy Friday

I have to be honest with you. I am not very updated with the news, nevertheless, the national news. I was probably one of the last people to find out about the tsunami and the earthquake warning -- I have a valid reason! I've been studying for midterms!

Ann Taylor sweater Forever 21 peacoat Forever 21 jeans

My grandfather called me around 7am - this is the time where I am running around the house frantically preparing my lunch, eating breakfast, getting dresses, etc; to top it off, I had a midterm for my first class. I was totally thrown off. I feel like I could have done better if I didn't know about the news. (My thoughts are with you and your family and friends, China, and Japan).

Before I left the house, I went crazy. I stuffed an envelope of cash, an extra underwear and socks, a contact lens container and solution, a roll of floss and skin tape, a black sharpie, an extra face mask (one for Bunny, I always keep one in my backpack at all times), an extra pack of tissues, and an umbrella. This was on top of all the other materials I carry to school five-days-a-week. This weighed a ton. I'm crazy.

Bunny is really ill right now. After I finished my classes for Friday, I went straight to the grocery store and straight to him; and of course I get stuck in rush hour because that is when everyone heads back into the city.

As much as I wanted, I had to leave after staying with him for a couple of hours. It was a really sad drive home. Bunz didn't want me to get sick since I have a couple more midterms coming up this week (I'm so dreading it). How selfish of me for leaving, huh?

I love you Buns.
I can't wait until you can come home.

(This is was I tugged around campus today.
This is considered to be a "light" day.

Do you see that red thing? Whoever said that scarves were meant to be only worn around your neck is crazzy!

Elaine from Clothed Much wears scarves as belts and I tie them on the handle of my tote bags. I know, I know, totally a genius idea I ripped off of Coach. Don't you like my cute little polka dots? Can I call dots "cute?"

You guys, I am horrible! I've only taken two outfit pictures in the past two weeks. Everything is just a little harder with Bunz away. I miss him so much. And with each day going by, I have more work and stress piling up, it just makes it makes everything a little bit harder. Some days I just want to hide under the blanket and snuggle up on his side of the bed until he comes home. (Pathetic, huh?) This semester school is a lot harder for both of us. It's eating us from the inside a little bit everyday.

Enough of my moping.

Conventional Wisdom

Hello all! Sorry, no outfit picture here today either. I'm sorry. The weather has either been boo-boo or I've just been too busy to take pictures. Honestly, it's the latter. School first. But I hope I can get a few outfits up soon.

Back to conventional wisdom. Long time ago, I went through the phase where I'd cut out all these cool things I see in magazines and then eventually forget about them for months at a time, years even, but today I came across one of my clippings, "Conventional Wisdom that Still Works." I think it is from either Glamour, Allure, or Marie Claire. This is what it says:

Some stuff your mom told you continues to rule true.
  1. It's generally not a good idea to sleep with a guy on the first date.
  2. You must send a handwritten thank you after a job interview.
  3. Call your boyfriend's paretns Mr. and Mrs. until they give you the okay to use their first names.
  4. When in doubt, wear a little black dress. It's always appropriate.
  5. Bring a gift when you're invited to someone's home for dinner.
  6. Don't talk about people behind their back. It'll bite you in the ass.

Some of the stuff my mom told me:
  1. Be nice to the people you do not like, you never know what will happen in the future.
  2. Before you leave the bathroom (not a home), make sure you flushed the toilet.
  3. If you can do something today -- do it. Don't wait until tomorrow. (I seriously need to work on this. Can you imagine how much homework (reading material) I've stacked up in the past three weeks?)

What wisdom did your mom share with you?
