Flats

I am in dire need of new black flats. I held onto these bad boys three years. They're from American Eagle Outfitters. (I also have a brown pair I bought a few months after I bought the black pair.) They're comfortable, but of course, without the much needed arch support, they're not that great if you plan on shopping a marathon. So why am I being so stubborn and holding onto them for so long even thought they're very broken into?

It's simple. I can't find any that I actually like that fit in my price range. I've tried to replace them, but the replacements ended up hurting my feet. They end collect dust until I decided to put them back only to reminder of why I stopped wearing them in the first place.

Bunny hates these flats. He says they smell. Haha-ha! Sometimes I forget to wear socks. And sometimes I run out of flat-socks so no socks on they go.

So yes, I really need a new pair. You can see the rubber is falling off (below).

Do you have any suggestions for me? I wouldn't mind a small wedge either!
Thank you in advance!

  1. target has some pretty cheap ones (under $25!) that have a slight wedge, arch support, and are super cute!

  2. I ♥ Payless shoes. You can actually get a 20% off coupon in the store when you purchase the shoes! I'm not sure how many Payless stores do that, though...

Here are some adorable black flats from Payless:

    These are SO cute:

  3. Those black flats are cute and I have a similar pair from Charlotte Russe. It's falling apart too, but I still wear them until I can find an adequate replacement.

I like to spend a little more on flats because I want them to last more than a year...so I'd check out Steve Madden, Talbots, J.Crew, etc. =)

  4. They are insanely cute! I had some suede flats from Dollhouse that I wore to death. Literally holes in the soles.

  5. I can't believe that they've held up that long! I'm on my feet for hours at a time, several days a week for my job, and my poor flats take a beating! I would def. try Target-also maybe try the store I work in, agacistore.com. They're not super cheap but they're also not crazy expensive. You can find some flats that are super comfortable-I have to have comfy ones for work!

  6. I have held onto the same pair of black flats for years too and I finally (reluctantly) purchased a new pair. I have no idea why I'm so attached to them, but I am!

I got mine at DSW. They had so many cute options the last time I was in there!

  9. Well, at least those black flats have never been neglected and have been much loved, lol. Will give you a heads up if I come across one. I was on this hunt myself not too long ago and on a whim, I decided to buy bronze flats instead. Best move ever! Metallic is so the new neutral, lol.

  12. Cute shoes! Good thing you got a lot of use out of them. I tend to wear very simple, minimalist flats. I love the Gap city flats.
